In Power2Hype, IRIS is working on the implementation of a Digital Twin for the H2O2 production process. This innovative approach will integrate real-time data to create a digital replica of the process.
The Digital Twin acts as a virtual tool for real-time decision support, allowing operators to fine-tune parameters for optimal H2O2 production. By mirroring physical processes, the digital model enables us to simulate, predict, and optimise the production, enhancing efficiency, reducing downtime, and supporting informed decision-making.
IRIS combines advanced mechanistic modelling with real-time data analytics in the Digital Twin. Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered models derived from experimental data will provide reliable predictions of key process performance indicators. When the Power2Hype pilot plan is operational,IRIS will simulate and analyse the H2O2 production under different conditions and operating parameters in real-time, offering insights into different scenarios such as adjusting production rates or energy consumption. Predictive algorithms are also under consideration to anticipate process outcomes, prevent potential failures, and suggest maintenance needs, using a combination of historical and real-time data.
