Power2Hype at the NWO CHAINS conference

Pedro Mazaira Couce (WU)

Power2Hype was presented in one of the most significant scientific meeting in the Netherlands.

This December, Pedro Mazaira Couce, a PhD candidate at Wageningen University under the supervision of Prof. Harry Bitter, showcased Power2Hype with an oral presentation at the prestigious NWO CHAINS 2024 conference. Organized by the Dutch Research Council (NWO), this event is one of the most significant scientific meeting in the Netherlands, bringing together researchers and industry leaders to highlight cutting-edge developments across various scientific fields.

Pedro’s oral presentation introduced key advancements achieved within Power2Hype’s Work Package 2, particularly focusing on the cathodic production of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). He highlighted how selectively introducing phenolic groups in the carbon catalyst enables industrially relevant performance with high current densities during the electrocatalytic production of H2O2, a key milestone in advancing sustainable chemical processes.

This conference provided an excellent platform for WU to disseminate Power2Hype’s work with the broader Dutch scientific community. The conference served as a platform for new connections, encouraging discussions, a promoting the project’s vision of advancing green and sustainable chemistry.
