Scientifically, Fraunhofer IGB concentrates on the development of H2O2 synthesis through water oxidation reaction (WOR, anodic half-cell reaction of the Power2Hype process) and on the integration of WOR with oxygen reduction reaction (ORR, cathodic half-cell reaction) in a paired electrolysis process.
LOBA is the first customer experience agency in Portugal, established in 2000, composed by a successful team from marketers to designers to developers. The European Projects Department leverages from LOBA’s competence and experience in marketing and communication, to provide branding and project identity, marketing activities, dissemination and exploitation of results, communication activities, design and production of promotional material and merchandising, social media management, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SEM (Search Engine Marketing) management, and PR management. In Power2Hype, LOBA will be in charge of developing the strategy for the project communication activities, creating the project visual identity, designing and producing the project communication materials, creating and managing the website, as well as the project social media profiles launching the newsletters, press releases and interacting with the media to promote the project and its findings, and managing the participation in events.
Técnicas Reunidas (TR) is an international general contractor, engaged in engineering, design, and construction of industrial facilities for a broad spectrum of customers throughout the world. Most of its business is concentrated on large turnkey industrial projects, although it also provides engineering, management, start-up, and operating services for industrial plants. TR Division of Proprietary Technology Development undertakes industrial plants based on in-house developed technologies and processes for its clients. TR has know-how in cell and stack design, including fluid dynamics studies, the development of zinc-air batteries, as well as in the engineering of pilot plants around that technology. In Power2Hype, TR will contribute to the optimization of the electrochemical cell and stack efficiency through the management of process fluids, assessment of the physicochemical properties of the materials, simulation of the fluid dynamics, and to scale-up and testing.
IRIS is an Advanced Engineering company specialised in Real-Time Monitoring solutions based on Photonics-based Process Analytical Technology (PAT) systems and Industrial Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning and Deep Learning) for data-driven process efficiencies and quality standardisation in the Food, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Bio-based and other process industries. We also develop Digital Twins, as well as AI-enabled Cloud Platforms for digitising, and connecting value chains. The role of IRIS within the Power2Hype project will be linked to the digitalization of the new H2O2 electrochemical conversion process. IRIS will gather large amounts of data from sensors installed in the process and will use this data to develop a Digital Twin of the physical pilot, aiming for real-time monitoring and control of the process. This work will allow studying the requirements for the further scale-up of the process.
The Energieinstitut an der JKU Linz is a non-university research institution with a multidisciplinary structure. The team deals with further development of an energy system that positively influences living, economic and environmental spaces, strengthens European economies, and reduces fossil energy sources as far as possible. The inter- and transdisciplinary cooperation of the institute's three departments – energy economics, energy law, and energy technology – enables a comprehensive, and interdisciplinary holistic analysis of the (future) topic of energy. In Power2Hype, the Energieinstitut is responsible for the technology impact assessment in WP7, including techno-economic, ecological, and societal aspects.

The group for ultra-hard coatings at the Chair of Materials Science and Engineering for Metals (WTM) of the Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) investigates PVD and CVD coatings, with a special focus on crystalline CVD-Diamond layers. We have over 25 years of experience in manufacturing, developing, and characterising Boron-doped diamond electrodes. Properties like crystallinity, doping level, and electrochemical activity are adjusted to excel at different electrochemical processes, be it water treatment, production of peroxo compounds or other chemicals. To this end, we also design and build our own coating machines, realising an upscaling of the coated surface. Our analysis techniques are based on (but not limited to) SEM, Raman, CV, IC, XRD, EBSD, GDOES and TEM. In Power2Hype we are active in WP 2, 3 and 4, working on the development of lower cost BDD electrodes, advanced BDD-metal-catalyst materials, and the cell design and integration.
DiaCCon is a globally leading company in the field of CVD diamond coating. We specialise in the high-quality diamond coating of mechanical seals/bearings, and the production of diamond electrodes with long-term stability.
